You know what you’re buying. Every product that comes through a licensed pot dispensary gets tested for pesticides, heavy metals, mold, and potency. The label matches what’s inside. That’s not guaranteed when you’re buying from an unlicensed shop or someone’s Instagram account.
You’re not guessing on dosage or wondering if that edible is actually 10mg or 100mg. You’re not smoking flower that might’ve been sprayed with who-knows-what. You’re getting regulated cannabis that meets New York State standards, and you can ask questions to someone who actually knows the answers.
And if something’s wrong? You have recourse. You’re buying from a business that has a license to protect, not a pop-up that disappears when things go sideways.
We operate as a licensed cannabis dispensary serving Baiting Hollow and the surrounding Long Island area. We’re part of a growing network of legal retailers trying to make cannabis accessible in a region where most towns have opted out of allowing dispensaries.
Suffolk County has some of the highest per-store cannabis sales in New York State, but only about a quarter of municipalities allow retail locations. That means people in Baiting Hollow, Calverton, Wading River, and nearby areas often have to drive 30 minutes to an hour just to find a legal option. We’re working to close that gap.
You’ll find lab-tested flower, vapes, edibles, and other products. You’ll also find people who can explain the difference between a sativa and an indica without talking down to you.
If you’re shopping in person, bring a valid ID showing you’re 21 or older. If you’re a medical patient, bring your New York medical cannabis card. Walk in, browse the selection, and ask questions. Our staff can help you find something based on what you’re looking for—whether that’s pain relief, better sleep, or just a mellow evening.
If you’d rather skip the trip, we offer delivery across Suffolk County. You can browse online, place an order, and get it brought to your door. Same ID requirements apply. Delivery is legal countywide, even in towns that don’t allow storefronts, so you’re covered no matter where you are in the area.
Every product is sealed, labeled, and tracked through New York’s inventory system. You’ll see the THC and CBD percentages, the strain name, and the batch testing info. If you have questions after you buy, you can call or come back in. We’re not disappearing after the sale.

Flower is still the most popular product category in New York, making up about a third of all sales. You’ll find over 1,500 strains in the state’s system, with favorites like Sour Diesel, Blue Dream, and OG Kush consistently topping the list. We carry a rotating selection based on availability from licensed New York cultivators.
Beyond flower, you’ll find vape cartridges, edibles, tinctures, and pre-rolls. Vapes and edibles are growing fast, especially with people who want something discreet or don’t want to smoke. Edibles come in precise doses—5mg and 10mg are common starting points—so you’re not playing a guessing game.
If you’re new to cannabis or coming back after years away, the landscape has changed. Products are stronger, more consistent, and way more varied than what was available a decade ago. We can walk you through what makes sense for your experience level and what you’re trying to accomplish. And if you’re a regular user just looking for a reliable source, we’ve got that covered too.
For those near Baiting Hollow, you’re also close to other licensed dispensaries across Suffolk County, including Simply Green in Coram, Strong Strains in East Setauket, Happy Days and Strain Stars in Farmingdale, and Beleaf in Calverton. The more legal options available, the better it is for everyone trying to avoid the unregulated market.
Every licensed dispensary in New York is required to display a Dispensary Verification Tool, usually near the entrance or at the counter. It’s a QR code you can scan with your phone that links directly to the state’s Office of Cannabis Management website, where you’ll see a list of all legal adult-use dispensaries.
If a shop doesn’t have that posted, or if scanning it doesn’t pull up their name on the state’s official list, walk out. There are way more unlicensed shops than legal ones right now—estimates put it at over 1,400 illegal sellers versus just a few hundred licensed dispensaries statewide. Those unlicensed places aren’t testing their products, aren’t paying taxes, and aren’t following any safety rules.
You can also check the OCM website yourself before you go. Just search for the dispensary name or address. If it’s not on that list, it’s not legal, no matter what the sign out front says.
Licensed dispensaries pay for testing, compliance, taxes, security, and rent in areas that allow cannabis retail. Illegal shops skip all of that. They don’t test for pesticides or contaminants. They don’t pay state excise taxes. They’re not following packaging and labeling laws. That’s how they undercut pricing.
You’re paying more at a legal dispensary because you’re getting a product that’s been through New York’s regulatory system. That means lab results for potency and safety, child-resistant packaging, accurate labeling, and a business that has accountability if something goes wrong.
Is it frustrating that illegal shops can sell cheaper? Absolutely. But you’re also not risking contaminated products, mystery ingredients, or getting shut out if there’s a problem. For a lot of people, that peace of mind is worth the extra few bucks, especially when you’re putting something in your body.
Yes. Delivery is legal throughout Suffolk County, even in towns that opted out of allowing retail storefronts. That’s one of the quirks of New York’s cannabis law—municipalities can ban brick-and-mortar stores, but they can’t stop delivery services from operating in their borders.
So if you live in a town that said no to dispensaries, you can still order online or by phone and have products brought to your home. You’ll need to show a valid ID when the delivery arrives, just like you would in a store. The driver will verify you’re 21 or older (or a registered medical patient), hand over your order, and that’s it.
This is a big deal for people in areas like Baiting Hollow, where the nearest storefront might be 20 or 30 minutes away. Delivery makes legal access possible without the drive, and it’s completely above board as long as you’re using a licensed dispensary.
Medical cannabis requires a certification from a registered New York healthcare provider and registration with the state’s medical marijuana program. If you’re a medical patient, you can access dispensaries that serve medical customers, and in some cases, you’ll find products or formulations that aren’t available on the adult-use side.
Recreational (adult-use) cannabis just requires you to be 21 or older with a valid ID. You don’t need a doctor’s note or any kind of registration. You walk in, show your ID, and buy what you want within the legal possession limits.
Some dispensaries serve both medical and recreational customers. Others focus on one or the other. Product selection can vary—medical dispensaries sometimes carry higher-CBD or specific ratio products aimed at symptom relief, while recreational spots might focus more on popular strains and mainstream products.
If you’re dealing with a specific condition and think cannabis might help, it’s worth talking to a doctor about the medical program. If you’re just looking to buy legal weed as an adult, the recreational market is fully open in New York.
Start with the THC percentage. If you’re new, don’t go for the highest number on the shelf. Something in the 15-20% range for flower is plenty. Edibles should start at 5mg or less. You can always take more later, but you can’t undo taking too much, and that’s where people have bad experiences.
Ask about the difference between indica, sativa, and hybrid. It’s not a perfect science, but generally: indicas are more relaxing, sativas are more energizing, and hybrids fall somewhere in between. If you’re using cannabis to sleep, you probably don’t want a sativa. If you’re trying to stay functional during the day, a heavy indica might knock you out.
Pay attention to the product format. Smoking or vaping hits faster but doesn’t last as long. Edibles take 60-90 minutes to kick in but last for hours. Tinctures (liquid drops) fall somewhere in the middle. If you’ve never used cannabis before, flower or a low-dose edible is usually the safest starting point.
And just ask questions. A good budtender will help you find something appropriate without making you feel dumb for not knowing the lingo. If someone’s pushing the most expensive product without asking what you’re looking for, that’s a red flag.
Suffolk County has a limited but growing number of licensed dispensaries. If you’re in or near Baiting Hollow, you’re within a reasonable drive of several legal options. Simply Green operates in Coram (11727). Strong Strains is in East Setauket (11733). Farmingdale (11735) has a few, including Happy Days, Planet Nugg, and Strain Stars.
Closer to the east end, you’ll find Strain Stars in Riverhead (11901), Beleaf in Calverton (11933), and Brown Budda and Charlie Fox in Southampton (11968). Canna Blooms is in Farmingville (11738), and Long Island Cannabis Club is in Deer Park (11729).
That’s the full licensed list as of now in Suffolk County. It’s not a lot compared to the number of towns in the area, but it’s growing. Each of these locations has gone through New York’s licensing process, so you know you’re getting tested, regulated products. If you’re not near any of these, delivery is your best bet—and again, that’s legal countywide, even if your town doesn’t allow storefronts.
