Farm to Main Street cannabis microbusiness growing in Ancram with a dispensary in Beacon, NY
Hudson Valley Jane is an adult-use cannabis microbusiness that grows, processes and sells its own cannabis under a “Farm to Main Street” philosophy, a cannabis take on the farm-to-table movement. The company was started by two native New Yorkers, co-founders Stacey Shurgin and Ben Weiner, and was awarded the 50th microbusiness license issued in New York State, New York State Office of Cannabis Management Adult-Use Microbusiness license OCM-MICR-24-000050. That single license gives Hudson Valley Jane complete control of its supply chain, from growing and processing to packaging and retail.
The brand’s farm sits on a 150-acre property in Ancram, about 90 miles north of New York City, which Stacey bought in 2020 with the goal of returning to farming. Ben, her longtime contractor and a legacy grower, became the company’s master cultivator. Their 14,000-square-foot, fully climate-controlled greenhouse includes about 5,000 square feet of flowering canopy and runs on geothermal heating and cooling loops, captured rainwater, radiant-heated floors and sunlight, with LEDs used only when needed. New crops come in roughly every two and a half weeks, so the menu rotates rare and exotic strains alongside fan favorites, all small-batch and hand-trimmed.
Hudson Valley Jane makes two in-house lines. Boujee Ben is the premium collection of mixed-light flower, Boujee Baby Buds, pre-rolls, Dogwalkers 10-packs, infused pre-ground, live resin and disposable vapes. Valley Jane is the precisely dosed line of scored gummies, infused honey and rosin tinctures built around the idea of “know your dose.” The company also produces custom-branded cannabis for weddings and events.
The brand’s boutique dispensary at 544 Main Street in Beacon opened in 2025 across from Fishkill Overlook Falls, styled like a country farm stand with reclaimed wood and string lights, and it offers pickup and delivery in the Hudson Valley and New York City. Hudson Valley Jane products are also carried by licensed dispensaries across New York State.
