Minority-owned craft cannabis microbusiness from New York's Capital Region
New Roots Gardens (NRG) is a minority-owned cannabis brand from New York’s Capital Region that operates as a licensed New York adult-use microbusiness. The brand grew out of a simple passion for growing cannabis and was founded by a long-time grower from the Capital Region. NRG specializes in selecting and cultivating exclusive cannabis varieties chosen for their unique and desirable characteristics, and the team sums up its approach plainly: they do what they do because they love doing it.
New Roots Gardens LLC holds New York Adult-Use Microbusiness license OCM-MICR-24-000032, first issued by the Office of Cannabis Management in March 2024 and currently active. The license covers adult-use cultivation, processing (including extraction) and distribution from the brand’s Albany County operation, which lets the team handle every step itself, from growing and drying to processing, packaging and delivering fresh, locally grown products to licensed retailers.
The New Roots Gardens lineup includes whole flower, pre-rolls and solventless extracts such as live rosin badder. Recent releases include Riptide, an indica-dominant hybrid bred from the Point Break cut crossed with Blue Power IX2 and sold in 3.5g jars, along with 1g live rosin badder in cultivars like Lylah’s Rose, Maple Gas and Papaya Twist. The brand also collaborates with partners to produce limited-edition edible products.
New Roots Gardens products are carried at select licensed adult-use dispensaries across New York, including shops in Schenectady, Rensselaer, Cohoes, Saratoga Springs, White Plains, Rockland County, Tarrytown, Queens (Astoria and Ozone Park), Long Island, Williamsburg and Brooklyn. Every product goes through New York’s regulated lab-testing program before it reaches the shelf.
